The KINSHOFER-series for railway construction and maintenance also includes different kinds and versions of grapples to handle rails and sleepers. The KSG-series offers efficient tools for the handling and positioning of rails and sleepers – concrete or wooden – and can also be used for curbstones. Thanks to the integrated adapter, the tool can be mounted to a tiltrotator as perfect combination. The opening can be adjusted to fit differently sized sleepers. The RBE-version additionally features a ballast shield to free the sleepers from the embedding ballast easily without having to change the tool. The KM 632HPX Rail-series for cranes features the cylinderless HPXdrive and thus provides the possibility to switch shells if required. The mounted tines are perfectly fit for the secure handling of rails and sleepers. A mechanical solution to lift rails is the RLD clamp which is locked by means of the weight of the rails and re-opened manually after the process. Usually 2 to 4 mechanical clamps are fixed to the eyes of a support bar with chains or carrying straps plus snap hooks or shackles. Especially constructed to load sleepers, the KM 333 sleeper loading grapple can clamp five concrete sleepers at the same time. The attachment is available as a version for loader cranes or excavators with 10t to 16t operating weight. The universal railroad grapples KM 632R (with vertical cylinders) and KM 632-2-R (with horizontal cylinders) can be used to handle rails as well as sleepers – single or bundled – and are suitable for the use on loader cranes. The reduced wear results from the generously dimensioned bearing system.
