Especially for the railway application, KINSHOFER has arranged a set of railway relevant shells and tines on the basis of the proven C18VE-series with exchangeable shells. The set includes shells with a width of 300 mm / 11.81 in for the excavation of the ballast in between the sleepers, and sleeper and rail gripping tines to handle rails and ties. Bucket carrier, hydraulics and bearings are integrated into the main carrier and only the shells are exchanged.
Another option is the C18VE/RIG, a clamshell bucket with exchangeable shells without rotator for the rigid mount on excavators, ideally in combination with a tiltrotator. The main carrier has been reinforced to endure the forces caused by the rigid mounting. A special option is the cardanic joint that can be installed between clamshell bucket and tiltrotator.
The C18VE special versions feature the same fast shell exchange system as the C18VE common version: easy shell exchange within only four minutes!
Width and opening of the C18V-28 Special have been designed especially to clear the track from the ballast between the sleepers. Thanks to the use of 20 mm / 0.78 in thick Hardox steel for the construction of the side walls, the bucket is very robust and reliable. The cutting edges are made of 500 HB steel. As with the C18VE-version, the bearing has been dimensioned generously, resulting in a reduced wear.
Different accessories such as scrapers are additionally available.
