Since its founding in 1986, Martens en Van Oord has become a leading company in the Netherlands, specialized in civil engineering. Smart logistics and efficient deployment of construction aggregates have been key factors since the company was founded.
That is why they came up with a capacity of 2,500 liters during the search for a new Re-Handling Clamshell Buckets at the Kinshofer C40 HPX. "With this type of grab we expect to be able to work more efficiently with lower maintenance costs. The great thing about this grab is that you can easily change the scales during maintenance or for products with a different specific gravity ", says Tobias van Oord (Director of Material at Martens en Van Oord).
The C40 HPX contains the patented HPXdrive from Kinshofer, which makes the Re-Handling Clamshell Buckets stand out from all other transfer grapples. The HPXdrive no longer has conventional cylinders, but the swivel is generated by the grabs via a piston with two opposing helical gears. They transfer the force to two axes to which the scales are attached via a clamp connection. This results in the benefits of the HPXdrive technology that lead to a longer service life and more profitability.
The HPXdrive has an internal lubrication system which means that it is maintenance-free. The operator no longer needs to lubricate every few hours, but can continue working on the crane.
As Mr. van Oord already indicates, it is possible to hang different types of scales on the HPXdrive. This only takes a few minutes and ensures that the grab is multifunctional and does not require a new grab for every job.
